Role description
Type of contract: Full-time
Place of work: Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
You will build and maintain the CI/CD, deployment automation, monitoring, and infrastructure behind an on-premise, Kubernetes-and-Java ecosystem, joining a standalone DevOps team led from the Czech Republic and now expanding in Ho Chi Minh City.
This is a hands-on automation role: you won't just run the runbooks, you'll architect them, investigate issues end to end, and help development teams solve problems they can't crack alone. You'll work directly with engineers and Czech-based colleagues, with clear room to grow from operating infrastructure to owning it.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, Bash, and Python
- Develop and improve deployment automation and runbooks (Ansible, scripting)
- Operate Kubernetes workloads in an on-premises environment
- Monitor applications and infrastructure with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki
- Investigate incidents end to end and support development teams with issues they cannot resolve themselves
- Optimize container images and support system hardening, patching, and compliance
- Collaborate closely with developers and cross-country teammates.
What Will Help You Stand Out
6+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE or Infrastructure engineering roles
- Working (user-level) knowledge of Kubernetes — operating workloads, whether on-premise or on a managed cluster (AKS/EKS/GKE)
- Strong Linux administration (Oracle Linux, RHEL, CentOS, Rocky, or Ubuntu)
- Automation with Bash and/or Python — able to build automations, not just execute them
- Experience with CI/CD tooling (GitLab CI, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines, or GitHub Actions)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with proactive, end-to-end ownership
- Comfortable working directly with development teams
- Good English for daily collaboration with Czech colleagues
- Nice to have: on-premise infrastructure experience (expected more at senior level), Java/JVM application management, config management, and monitoring with ELK/EFK, Zabbix, or Datadog
